Leaders of China Nonferrous Industry Association Silicon Industry Branch and Chinese Academy of Sciences Visited Xiye for Field Research

The industrial silicon DC furnace project constructed by Xiye is listed as a major scientific and technological project by the state. In order to understand the R&D progress and technological breakthroughs of the project, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the leaders of the Silicon Industry Association (SIA) joined hands in organizing a professional research team to visit Ximetallurgy for a field investigation.

During the research process, the expert group had in-depth exchanges with the technical team of Xiye, and had a warm discussion on the optimization of technology, industrial upgrading, market application and other aspects. This in-depth cooperation mode between industry, academia and research not only promotes the rapid transformation of scientific and technological achievements, but also injects new vitality into the enhancement of industry standards and the synergistic development of the industrial chain.

For the future development of industrial silicon DC furnace, Xie Hong, Deputy Secretary General of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Silicon Industry Branch, put forward three suggestions: first of all, innovative technology is the key competitiveness to promote industrial upgrading; secondly, to promote the integration of industry-university-research and utilization mode, establish a collaborative innovation platform, and gather resources from universities, research institutions and enterprises; furthermore, to strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, and pay attention to the cultivation and development of talents. Thirdly, strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights and emphasize the cultivation and development of talents.

At the meeting, the experts on the current DC electric mineral heat furnace practical application of the problems, possible situations, the current status of technological development and trends, such as in-depth exchanges and communication, and for the specific issues to study and explore solutions. At the same time, the guests agreed that DC furnace technology will significantly reduce the comprehensive energy consumption of industrial silicon production and help China's energy transformation and the realization of the dual-carbon goals.
