High-Carbon Ferrochrome Smelting Furnace Equipment

Product description

High-carbon ferrochrome production methods include the electric furnace method, the shaft furnace (blast furnace) method, the plasma method and the melt reduction method. Shaft furnace method now only produces low chromium alloy (Cr < 30%), higher chromium content (such as Cr> 60%) of the shaft furnace production process is still in the research stage; the latter two methods are being explored in the emerging process; therefore, the vast majority of commercial high-carbon ferrochrome and remanufactured ferrochrome are used in the production of electric furnaces (mineral furnace) method.

Product information

  • High-Carbon Ferrochrome Smelting2

Electric furnace smelting has the following characteristics

  • (1) Electric furnace uses electricity, the cleanest energy source. Other energy sources such as coal, coke, crude oil, natural gas, etc. will inevitably bring the accompanying impurity elements into the metallurgical process. Only electric furnaces can produce the cleanest alloys.

    (2) Electricity is the only energy source that can obtain arbitrarily high temperature conditions.

    (3) Electric furnace can easily realize the thermodynamic conditions such as oxygen partial pressure and nitrogen partial pressure required by various metallurgical reactions such as reduction, refining and nitriding.
